Growing to about 15cms tall, Nemertesia ramosa is an irregularly branching, colonial hydroid and is usually pale brown to yellow. Found all around the UK but only in areas of weak to moderate water movement. It attaches to a hard substrate and feeds via its polyps on suspended matter.
