The Norwegian Lobster or Nephrops norvegicus has a variety of common names such as Scampi, Langoustines or simply Prawn. It usually prefers muddy ground where it lives in holes. A very succulent animal,it is fished for extensively around northern UK coasts both by trawling and trapping. Most are exported to mainland Europe. Food is probably not plentiful out in vast expanses of mud and anything that can be found is made use of.
