Very much a northern species as its name implies, the Northern Stone Crab or Lithodes maja prefers deeper, cooler water and is quite common off eastern Norway and Canada. It grows to about 60cms across the span of its legs and is reputed to be delicious eating. Sometimes called the Deep Water King Crab.
