Common Prawn - Palaemon serratus
The Common Prawn, Palaemon serratus, is common on southern and western coasts in both shallow water and rock pools. It can vary its colour to match its surroundings and is an excellent hunter of small fish which it snatches from mid-water with its long claws. Its body length can reach about 7cms.
